Atlantic Construction and Design provided consultancy and project management services to Transport for London for the implementation of the London Low Emission Zone signing system.
At the time of implementation of this scheme, this was the largest signing provision scheme in Europe.
This involved approving all sign designs, preparation, agreement and amendment of Section 8 agreements with the various London Boroughs, Highways Agency and Regional County Councils where the Advance Direction Signs and Low Emission Zone signs were due to be implemented.
This required extensive consultation with various London Boroughs including Barnet, blah blah blah
Consultation for design approval and agreement for non standard signs was also agreed with the Department for Transport.
Site supervision of the installation of the signs was also undertaken with the sign manufacturers and installation contractors comprising TfL internal contractors and Highways Agency sub contractors – Carillion.
This scheme was delivered on time and within budget and has contributed to reducing vehicle emissions by encouraging the most polluting heavy diesel vehicles driving in the Capital to become cleaner.
